  • Important Information: There have been some websites recently claiming to be the revived REPS. We have tried to gain more information about this; however, CIMSPA and UK Coaching have not confirmed the sale of REPS to anyone. These websites don’t seem to provide sufficient information about the purchase of their company or any other details regarding their relationship with Ofqual or UK Coaching. Additionally, they don’t appear to be recognised by any regulatory Awarding Bodies in the UK. Once we have more information about these websites, we will update this page. For now, we recommend all our UK learners to join CIMSPA.

Information about the merge between REPS and CIMSPA making an unified register called CIMSPA

*CIMSPA is the registering body for fitness professionals in the UK, the purchase of REPS by UK Coaching and merge of their members to CIMSPA, was reported by CIMSPA in 2020. The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) was created by Skills Active in 2002 and in 2020 it was purchased by UK Coaching, and then disbanded merging all REPS members in 2020 to join CIMSPA.

CIMSPA now plays an important role in providing a service of an independent public register for the Health and Fitness Industry in the UK, recognising the qualifications and expertise of health-enhancing exercise instructors across the four home nations.

There have been some websites recently claiming to be the revived REPS, we have tried to gain more information about this, however, CIMSPA and UK Coaching have not confirmed the sale of REPS from CIMSPA/UK Active to anyone, and these websites don’t seem to provide sufficient information about the purchase of their company, nor any other information about their relationship to any regulatory bodies in the UK, such as Skills Active and UK Coaching. Additionally, we have been unable to contact anyone claiming to be from REPS by phone, nor confirm their UK address, once we can confirm these, we will update this page. For now, we recommend all our learners to contact CIMSPA for more information.
